NYT 2012 US Presidential Elections Coverage
Of course the NYT's coverage of presidential elections is a newsroom-wide feat. My role on the Interactive News desk was mostly focused on wrangling the AP results data, pushing our data visualisations and article embeds through a series of test data scenarios, working on the live coverage and developing systems deployment and monitoring dashboards.
I'd like to note this work was hugely interrupted by the arrival of Hurricane Sandy, but the team still pulled it off, working at times in someone's apartment when we couldn't get to Manhattan, and others basically living in the newsroom, unable to get inside their flooded homes.
